Woman fakes madness for degree

BEIJING, Feb.4 -- A woman in Sweden has faked madness as part of her art degree show.

35-year-old Ann Odell staged a false suicide bid by standing on the edge of

a bridge in Stockholm. After being rescued by police, she was taken to St

Goran's hospital where she yelled and spat at medical staff before being sedated

and tied down.

Odell was discharged the next morning when she told doctors that her

actions were a stunt for her degree at Sweden's University College of Arts.

"It's not only disgraceful that she used our resources, but what she also

did to other patients, the staff - to everyone - is shameless," said the

hospital's physician David Eberhard.

"She and the head of her college ought to cut their hair and get real

jobs."
