HANOI, Feb. 10 (Chinese media) -- Vietnam's Ministry of Health confirmed that the 23-year-old Vietnamese woman Ly Tai Mui from northern Quang Ninh province has been infected with bird flu, the local newspaper Liberty Saigon reported Tuesday.
The sample from the women was tested positive to the H5N1 virus, said the ministry.
The patient was taken to the local hospital with bird flu symptoms of high temperature and difficulty in breathing in late January after having sick fowls, said the newspaper.
Ten other family members, who had also eaten the sick chicken, though having not shown bird flu symptoms, have been separated from community with special care.
According to another local newspaper Young People, the infected woman is now in bad condition, suffering severe respiratory illnesses.
In early January, a Vietnamese eight-year-old girl from northern Thanh Hoa province was infected with bird flu, Vietnam's first reported human case in 2009.
Bird flu killed five people in Vietnam last year.
