Forbidden to see girl, boy locks parents in room

BEIJING, May 20 -- A teenager in Changle, Fujian province, locked his
parents in their bedroom after they ordered him to stay away from a girl he
liked.

Lin and his wife felt the boy, 19, was too young to be in love and locked
him in his room. They released him after he vowed not to meet the girl.

However, after his parents went to bed one night last week, the boy locked
them inside their room and went to see the girl.

They had to call police to open the door. They told police that their son
fell in love with the girl and purchased a gift for the girl's birthday.

Boy survives 10,000-volt shock

BEIJING,March 13-- A boy has survived a 10,000-volt electric shock in southwest China with just burns to his hands, a local newspaper reported yesterday.

Doctors could not find any other problems with seven-year-old He Haoyang after conducting a thorough medical check-up at a local hospital.

Doctors have kept the boy in to monitor his recovery and make sure he has no muscle damage, the Chongqing Morning Post reported.

He, from Tongjiang County of Sichuan Province, was playing with wires in a field on March 8, said his mother, Liu Jun. The wires suddenly broke and he got hit by 10,000 volts, the report said.

"He fell down shortly after being shocked," Liu said. "His friends shouted to him 'Run!' and he managed to run a few steps forward."

Employees with local power company said the boy's survival was a miracle and he survived because he managed to get away from the area. They said the grass near the broken wires was all burned.

12-yr-old arrested for "helping to rob a bar"

BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhuanet) -- In an "unlikely"arrest in the armed robbery case, Omaha police arrested a 12-year-old boy for allegedly holding up the California Bar early Thursday morning.

According topolice,the boy is one of three people suspected of robbery. Investigators said the boy and two men walked into the Bar around 12:45 a.m., and one of the men pulled a gun. Officers said the 12-year-old and an 18-year-old then demanded money from the Keno register.

Police said the 18-year-old punched a female employee, and the three suspects fled the area.

Whilethe 18-year-old and the 12-year-old were arrested near the scene, police continue to search for a third suspect.

One-year-old boy survives night in woods in T-shirt, diaper

OTTAWA, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Police called it a
miracle Monday when a one-year-old boy was found in good health after he spent a
cold night alone in a forest in the eastern Canadian province of Quebec.

The child spent about 12 hours in the forest Saturday
night wearing just a T-shirt and diaper in rainy, five-degree weather, local
media reported Monday citing provincial police.

He was allegedly abandoned by his father, police
said.

Authorities got a call from the boy's mother saying
that the father had left the house and was in the vehicle with the one-year-old
baby, and the man had been drinking, police Sgt. Joyce Kemp said.

Police found the empty vehicle a short while later,
and tracked down the father at a hospital early Sunday morning.

After realizing that the baby was lost in the woods,
police started search with dog handlers, emergency units and a helicopter.

Around noon they were able to locate the child in the
forest. The baby is fine, Kemp said.

The father was arrested and will likely face charges
connected to the incident, police said.
