Woman gives birth on plane in New Zealand

WELLINGTON, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Police at Auckland
International Airport were investigating after a woman gave birth while flying
to Auckland from Samoa on Thursday then got off the plane, leaving her baby
behind.

An Auckland Airport spokeswoman said it was not known
if other passengers and crew on the Pacific Blue flight noticed she was in labor
and "the baby was found on the aircraft" after landing.

Police were called when the plane landed shortly
before 7 a.m. and took both mother and child to hospital.

Counties Manukau District Police said they were
investigating whether the child had been abandoned.

Teaching driving on runway could have cost many lives

BEIJING, March. 18 (Xinhuanet)-- A man giving driving classes to his girlfriend on the runway forced a Phillippine plane to take off immediately after the aircrafthad landed to avoid a crash, according to newspapers.

The incident happened when Cebu Pacific plane carrying 80 passengerstouched down at Legazpi airport in the central PhilippinesSaturday but took off again as the van being driven by the couple crossed the runway, the newspapers said Tuesday.

The man is the son of a local aviation official, who has been ordered suspended from duty.

Plane lands on beach, flips over

BEIJING,April 18-- Beachgoers in Australia had a lucky escape
yesterday when a small plane crash-landed in the sand then flipped over in the
sea. The two pilots also survived the accident.

Phil Walters and his co-pilot were flying the single-propeller Piper Cub
towing an advertising banner above the tourist town of Caloundra, Queensland,
state when the engine stalled.

Walters told Network Ten television that he spotted a patch of empty sand
on Shelley beach and began sliding toward it. Witnesses said the plane hit the
sand, flipped and came down in the shallows.

Stolen plane from Canada Lands in Mossouri

CHICAGO, April 6 (Xinhua) -- A small plane stolen by a student from an
aviation center in Canada's Ontario Province, landed near a Missouri highway
Monday and the pilot is now on the run, U.S. federal aviation officials said.

A U.S. Federal Aviation official said that the single-engine plane was
tracked by two U.S. fighter jets when it flew into the United State, and it
landed on a dirt road at Ellsinore, southeast of Missouri. The pilot ran away
after the plane landed and local police were responding.

Two F-16 fighters had been dispatched to track the plane which was taken at
about 2:30 p.m. from the Aviation Centre of Excellence at Thunder Bay's
Confederation College in Ontario.

Fighter pilots intercepted the plane at the border between the states of
Michigan and Wisconsin, according to a spokesman for the North American
Aerospace Defense Command in Colorado.

As the plane flew over Madison, Wisconsin, the state capitol building was
evacuated shortly after 5 p.m. as a precaution.

The pilot acknowledged seeing the F-16s but refused to communicate with any
authorities, U.S officials said.
