MEXICO CITY, Oct. 27 (Chinese media) -- The 2007 Guinness World Record

holder for the heaviest man on earth, Manuel Uribe, on Sunday celebrated his

wedding, which was widely covered by media from all over the world.

Uribe, 43, was married to Claudia Solis, 38, amid

blessing from more than 400 guests present at the ritual in the northeastern

Mexican city of Monterrey.

During the ceremony, the bride in a strapless dress

declared "the great love" she felt while the groom promised her "a very happy

life together" and showed willingness to have children "as many as possible."

Severe obesity has confined Uribe to bed for six

years. Uribe managed to lose nearly half of his weight from a record 560 kg to

less than 250 kg through a dieting program. Nevertheless, together with his bed,

he had to be lifted onto a crane and be carried to the church for the wedding.

The couple had the traditional dance with Uribe

sitting on his bed.

Although reporters from several countries were

present at the wedding, only the Discovery Channel and local "TV Notas" magazine

got the exclusive live coverage.

Uribe's ex-wife left him about 10 years ago allegedly

because of his super weight, while Claudia's ex-husband died of obesity.

Medical advisors said Uribe would be able to walk again in two or three years if things go well.
