HK resumes processing poultry import applications from U.K.

HONG KONG, Nov. 26 (Chinese media) -- The Center for Food

Safety of Hong Kong announced Wednesday that the processing of applications for

importing poultry meat and poultry products from the whole United Kingdom is now

back to normal.

"In view of the control measures taken by Oxfordshire

and Warwickshire counties and the fact that there are no other cases of avian

influenza reported, we decide to resume processing of applications," a spokesman

for the Center said.

The Center suspended processing of applications from

Oxfordshire and Warwickshire counties following confirmation of highly

pathogenic avian influenza H7 cases in poultry farms in June this year.
